Join our guide and take photos of Arctic seabirds in Vardø in the northeastern corner of Varanger peninsula. One of the most famous bird islands in northern Norway is Hornøya in front of the city of Vardø, www.hornoya.com. The island is well-known for its large colonies of kittiwakes, Arctic puffins, European shags and murres. Thousands and thousands of love birds breed on the island. White-tailed eagles are also commonly seen on Hornøya, and also in other parts of Vardø region in sping and in summer. We will also stop to take pictures of the Ekkerøy bird cliff, which is famous for its large colony of kittiwakes.
